January 2020 Newsletter: Happy New Year from TeachingWorks!

It has been an honor for TeachingWorks to provide resources, programming, and professional learning opportunities in 2019 to support the development of skillful teaching across the country. As we begin the new year, we are careful to remember, in the words of the late Toni Morrison, “What you do to children matters. And they may never forget.” The training and support novice teachers receive from teacher educators, and the instruction these new teachers will later provide to children all matter for either reproducing or disrupting legacies of racism and oppression in classrooms and our society. May we all enter the new year with a renewed commitment to a vision of a just and equitable public education system that makes possible a better tomorrow for children everywhere.
