Leading teacher educators to discuss beginning teacher competencies at AACTE 2013
Deborah Loewenberg Ball, dean of the University of Michigan School of Education and director of TeachingWorks, will be one of five panelists featured in a major forum at the 2013 annual meeting of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). The major forum is titled: Examining Professional Practice: Evolving Notions of Beginning Teacher Competencies.
The panelists will discuss efforts underway to identify and develop high-impact instructional practices and knowledge for beginning teachers. Other than Ball, they include the following:

- Tina Marshall-Bradley, Paine College
- Deborah Schussler, Villanova University
- Sharon Feiman-Nemser, Brandeis University
AACTE will host this discussion as one of two major forums recently announced for their 65th annual meeting in Orlando, FL. The 2013 conference theme is Embracing the Future: Vision, Venture and Values. For more information, please visit the AACTE website.
